I’ve started this Academy because I want other people to experience the joy of cooking. That’s the way I feel about cooking. So, it’s like there’s (an) opportunity to practice mindfulness in getting to alignment. And forget about everything else going on, it’s just about you and it’s just about the ingredients you are working with.
And I also do really believe that your vibration will influence the food. So it’s one aspect is the recipe, another aspect is the ingredient and the third aspect is your mood. So, when all of those are in place, it’s something magic that happens, it’s alchemy. That’s why I call my restaurants Alchemy and this place Alchemy Academy.
Shanti Allen is a classically trained chef who started her career in some of Europe’s finest restaurants. She believed that culinary creation was an expression of love, but this concept seemed at odds with commercial food practices and the modern Western diet.

Alchemy Academy instructor Lauren Lovatt is a Plant Based chef and Entrepreneur from the UK where she was trained with the best Plant Based Chefs and Plant Lab Culinary. Lauren has set up aspirational Vegan restaurants, hosted Plant based pop-ups, and has a wealth of experience developing recipes, writing menus and creating events. While leading PlantLab Barcelona courses she fell in love with teaching, sharing and inspiring knowledge for plant based food. With a keen eye for plating and a passion for the most vibrant, seasonal ingredients, her style is all about using natural and seasonal ingredients Elevated.
Alchemy Academy instructor Carolina Chinea, is a plant based chef, culinary educator and food designer from the Canary Islands, deeply passionate about plant based cooking and raw food. She has a wealth of experience setting up plant based restaurants around the world, including Evergreen Organics in Quatar, Vibe in Cambodia, Aburn Bakery in Kuwait, and The Secret Garden in Palestine. She also has a background teaching for PlantLab Culinary, and has managed the set-up of plant-based culinary schools Aurea and Plant Academy London. With a great sense for the process of educating and learning, she is here to boost your confidence, stimulate your creativity, and help you reach your goals.
Alchemy Academy instructor Wayan Rina has a wealth of experience in the culinary world and is driven by her passion for plant based recipe development. She has been the head chef of Alchemy since the opening day, and also has been an integral part in setting up some other well renowned plant based restaurants in Bali, including Akasha New Earth Haven and Zest Ubud. She is not only a talented recipe developer and menu creator, but also an expert on how to run a restaurant kitchen efficiently and gracefully.

With industrialized practices making "ethical, sustainable animal farming", a contradiction in terms, vegans choose not to consume animal products. This means no meat, poultry, seafood, dairy or eggs. For some, it can also mean avoiding insect-sourced products like honey, and bee pollen, and many vegans choose not to use animal materials such as leather, silk, fur, feathers or products that have been tested on living creatures.
I have a feeling that what you eat affects you on more levels than you think. Because when I started eating this way, high vibe food, it’s like all kinds of synchronicity started to happen.
I started Alchemy Restaurant eight (8) years ago. That was because, like when we go to a restaurant, you never know what’s inside the food. It’s like you have so much chemicals, and so much preservatives, and artificial ingredients, artificial sweeteners.
I wanted to just create a restaurant where I know everything is clean. It’s just all clean ingredients - the kind of food that I want to eat myself and the kind of food that I want my children to eat. That’s always in the back of my mind when I create new recipes for Alchemy Restaurant.

Organic, unprocessed and vegan, these recipes are minimally processed to enhance and preserve their essences and nutrition. We use fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, seaweeds, sprouts, spices, berries and superfoods. We don’t use animal products, gluten, dairy or refined white sugar.
